Fish and Sheep

So the last post probably sounded like a mother at her wits end. Well I was that day and will not deny it! It is just part of the territory of Motherhood. I am learning about Calvin & Hobbes each day and finding ways to occupy them with more "constructive" activities. Like field trips last week!

Below are some pictures that I'm just getting around to posting. Last Monday we took a field trip to the Eagle Bend Fish Hatchery. Everyone had a great time and I believe learned a great deal about how and why the hatchery operates.

Look at how well behaved these "unsocialized" children are! LOL Even Kevin (Calvin) who is looking at me as I snap the pic, did a great job sitting and listening! :) This is a great group of kids, I must say.

After the presentation we were able to run the grounds and look at all the ponds and have a picnic! The boys especially had a great time digging and looking for a "GREEN MONSTER" in the dry ponds. Not to mention all the shells that they found!!

Below are some pics from our trip to the Museum of Appalachia which was on this past Friday.

They have real Peacocks all over the grounds and these poor animals were chased constantly!!! Especially by the older, middle school kids, who were there from another school!
We also got to witness the sheep shearing that was taking place. I didn't have my real camera so I wasn't able to get pics of that, but it was so cool watching them turn from fluffy to funny looking!!!

It was really fun for the kids to see how people lived when there was nothing but a dirt floor and one room for the entire family! The Museum is 2 minutes away from our house so it was also a treat for the kids to see this outside living museum that they pass everyday on their way to soccer practice!
Well, that is what we have been up to lately. More later on the life of busy bees!
