Even though we do not follow the public school system calendar, we are participating in a Spring break right now! Actually, it is for me!!! LOL We have been doing a pretty light schedule anyway, but this week there is NO schedule!!!! I think I need time to ponder what we will be doing for the next few months and try to make a flexible schedule that will not make us crazy when the weather is as nice as it has been lately. I must admit, if I was still requiring some sort of school work to be done this week, I would have struggled with it more than the kids!! As a matter of fact, when the hubby left for work he asked me if I was getting up...."MAYBE," was my reply. Then Julie hopped into bed with me and we wouldn't have gotten up except for my father-in-law knocking on the door for some reason! We were both back in dream land when we heard him knocking! :( After he left, I asked Julie if she wanted to go lay back down with Mommy, half expecting her to say no, because when she is up, she is up! She said yes and ran back to bed with me! Only to start sneezing repeatedly forcing us up once again....
One of the main reasons I'm taking this time off is to re-establish habits in our chore routine. Kevin and Julie have and can take on a few more small habits and Jessica and Jennifer for sure can take on more habits. Now when I talk about habits, for those of you who do not know about the CM method of education, I'm talking about beneficial habits, such as hygiene, keeping one's items in their places when not being used and taking care of one's space. Also, being helpful (with a cheerful heart and attitude)!
I have found myself at frustrations end when it comes to how this household runs sometimes, and end up blaming myself for it's condition. But then I realize I'm not the only one living in this home (because it would be spotless if I were). Just like right now...Hubby asked me where his houseshoes are...NOW, do I WEAR his houseshoes? NO! Duh! But I was the last one to put them in the bathroom so he compliments me for knowing where things are lately when he asks me. He was also wondering if I would share the location of Jimmy Hoffa! NO, I will not do that for free!
Anyway, this week we are working on good habits for The Littles, and the family as a whole, as well as potty training Kevin. He is the most stubborn child when it comes to going potty! I found his weak spot though, and I'm not too proud about how it makes me look, it is the TV. If he is being headstrong about putting on the underwear to going to the potty, I turn that blasted thing off and NOBODY gets to watch it until he does as I ask! Have I mentioned how much I hate the TV! I was ready to give it up when our old 27 inch died two years ago...hubby went and bought a flatscreen! Ugh!!!
Well, enough of my ramblings. It is time to close it down for the day and start all over again tomorrow!
