Busy Bee is Me!

Today was a very productive day indeed!! A recent post over at The Homeschool Lounge got me thinking about how I use my "school space". It made me realize that it is time to get MORE organized and get all my stuff in one place. Our dinning room has doubled as a "school" room for a few years now and it was getting to where we never eat at the table anymore! Quite bothersome to me actually. I like to cook but have not done much of it simply because there are school books and such aaaaallllllllll over the table. SOOO, I decided to move all my "school" stuff downstairs into the Kitchen/Craft room and the extra den/play area. That area of the house is always in neglect so making this change should help me to keep more of top of things. It felt so good today to finally have all the school books and such in one place.

By no means am I done yet though. I still need to straighten all the books shelves in the downstairs den and get them a little more organized. I am trying to figure out a way to organize and sort children's books...so if anyone out there has a great idea on that...I'm all ears. I read about a lady who put colored tape on the spine of the books to I.D. them as Bible readers, Science, Numbers, Fantasy...etc. That really is a last thing on my list...right now I'm just trying to get all the items that I know we will be using this next school year in one place.

I did however set up Jennifer her own desk and workboxes today. She was so excited about it, and without her know a thing about about Sue Patrick's Workbox System that I've been reading about, told me I should put numbers or something on them to let her know what is in the box and when she needs to do it!!! How smart is she?!!!

So, today was productive and I am tired. I like this kind of tired though...a satisfying tired.
